Ayshire Quaker Meeting

     ayrshire2ayrshire1

Greetings to all Friends everywhere on World Quaker Day from Quakers in Ayrshire, Scotland. After Meeting for Worship in Troon we watched two of the Quaker Speak videos - Why I Worship With Other Kinds of Quakers and What's the Difference Between “Programmed” and “Unprogrammed” Quaker Worship? These provoked lively and wide ranging discussions for several hours which continued over a shared meal. We send greetings also to those members of our meeting who are abroad in Ireland and Sweden, and to Robin Mohr whose grandmother was born in Troon and finally to Benigno Sánchez-Eppler and Nancy Wallace who featured in the films. May we all be connected together in the things that are eternal, in the Spirit, and from where words of peace and reconciliation come from.

As we say in Scotland "We’re a’ Jock Tamson’s bairns!" (We’re all God’s children, nobody is better than anybody else – we’re all equal).

minehead

Minehead Quakers in the UK heard this section of Britain Yearly Meeting’s Advices and Queries in their meeting for worship today:

“Do you welcome the diversity of culture, language and expressions of faith in our yearly meeting and in the world community of Friends? Seek to increase your understanding and to gain from this rich heritage and wide range of spiritual insights. Uphold your own and other yearly meetings in your prayers.”

Cotteridge Local Meeting, Britain YM

Excellent turn out for event at Cotteridge meeting last night - combining World Quaker Day / Britain Yearly Meeting's Quaker Week with Churches Together in B30 to look at Christians and Climate Change. A strong sense of the need for spiritual conviction to be combined with practical action, and people expressed appetite for further collaboration.

Vienna Meeting, German YM

As today our small meeting in Vienna, Austria, met for meeting for worship we were also aware of 'World Quaker Day'.

We spoke about the theme 'living the transformation' and realized, that transformation is constantly in everybody and everything.

We send our warm greetings to all Friends around the world - Quakers and those who are also Quakers, but do not yet know.
